Accessibility Advisor


With over 300 employees and around 6,000 volunteers the Blind Foundation is New Zealand’s leading provider of services and support to people who are blind or have low vision. One of New Zealand’s most trusted and iconic Not for Profit organisations. Access Advisors is a pan-disability consultancy within the Blind Foundation that work directly with employers to help them become more accessible and inclusive of New Zealander’s with disabilities, chronic health and mental health conditions. New Zealanders with access needs are three times less likely to be employed than their non-disabled peers. We’re supporting New Zealand’s leading employers to change that! We need an Accessibility Advisor to join us in Auckland. You will be responsible for completing Accessibility Tick gap analysis assessments, writing assessment reports and supporting Accessibility Tick employers along their journeys to become more accessible and inclusive for the 24% of New Zealanders who identify with disability. What we are looking for: 

  • A commitment, empathy and understanding of the experience of disabled people and the Accessibility Tick Programme values and purpose

  • Excellent relationship management experience and relationship skills

  • Experience in customer relationship management (CRM) practices, strategies and technologies

  • Auditing or gap analysis assessment experience

  • Excellent business writing/ report writing skills

  • A good high level knowledge of accessibility and inclusion

  • A good understanding of the business/ corporate sector

  • A proven record of delivering on targets

  • Driven to achieve results

  • Ability to motivate and influence others

  • Relates well to people at all levels

  • Teamwork and leadership skills

  • A customer-oriented mind set

  • A problem-solving attitude

  • A knowledge and understanding of the government and private health and disability sector

  • The ability to be able to travel throughout Auckland regularly and occasionally outside of Auckland.
