Vision Rehabilitation Counsellor
With over 300 employees and around 6,000 volunteers the Blind Foundation is New Zealand’s leading provider of services and support to people who are blind or have low vision. One of New Zealand’s most trusted and iconic Not for Profit organisations, we need a Vision Rehabilitation Counsellor to join us. You will help the organisation achieve our vision of empowering and supporting New Zealanders who are blind or who have low vision.
We are currently recruiting for a Vision Rehabilitation Counsellor to join our team. Based in our Albany, Auckland office, the successful candidate will travel across the Auckland region.
Our Vision Rehabilitation Counsellors provide counselling and social work intervention to adults, children and their families accessing Blind Foundation service, demonstrating the professional ethics and practices expected of a counsellor and/or social worker. The aim is to assist clients in working towards the objective of service provision within the Blind Foundation services, to ensure that they receive a service that is responsive, flexible, professional and reliable and focused on adjusting to vision loss.
As well as the above, you will need to be able to work effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and culture, and you must also be eligible to work in New Zealand.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, honest and open communicator, with proven skills in client database use, and Microsoft Office.
