Accounts Payable Executive

Are you a strong Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist who has more than 2 years’ experience in high volume AP in a complex environment – who is looking to excel in their career?

You will help the organisation achieve our vision of a “life without limits” for New Zealanders who are blind or who have low vision.

This position will be based in our Parnell office and is a full time (37.5 hours per week) position.

You will “own” the AP function as part of a small finance team providing financial support to the Finance Manager and other Blind foundations staff.  

About the role:

  • Record, classify and summarise financial transactions

  • Prepare payments for weekly and monthly runs

  • Credit card transactions

  • Provide assistance and support the finance team

  • Prepare regular account reports for associated committees

  • Looking after the AP inbox

  • Supplier queries 

The role is a busy but challenging one and will keep you on your toes, working with a great bunch of people in a friendly environment.

Skills required for this role:

  • Proficient with software applications, databases, spreadsheets and/or word processing skills
  • Knowledge of office, administration and accounting procedures;
  • Knowledge of accounts payable and maintaining a general ledger, including account reconciliations;
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.  This includes ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
  • High command of the English language both written and spoken;
  • Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively;
